BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

First Images From The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1

They may not be ready to unleash a trailer on the world just yet – though we doubt it’ll be too long before one arrives – but the team behind The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 are at least prepared to give us a look at Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin in the film, plus a video interview with Moore (see below) and a roundtable chat with director Francis Lawrence , writer Peter Craig and producer Nina Jacobson. Watch the video & see all images after the Jump... It’s very much your standard promo material: lots of the cast and crew talking highly of each other, but you do at least learn that Craig has taken over script duties from Danny Strong, who moved onto other commitments before shooting began and someone was needed on set to work on last minute re-writes. Oh, and from the sounds of the effort involved, shooting both parts of the final Hunger Games story is quite a mammoth undertaking. As for the films – which are adapted from Suzanne Collin

TV Review: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Beginning of the End” By: Brandon Wolfe

TV Review: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Beginning of the End” By: Brandon Wolfe ‘ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ’s’ first season stands as one of the more curious failures in recent memory. Here was a series that seemed to have every advantage laid out before it and felt poised to become the next great television phenomenon. Given the track records of both Marvel Studios and producer Joss Whedon, this should have been an easy win, yet a stifling blandness and frustrating ineptitude took hold immediately and never let up. So going into the season finale, the question taking shape was no longer what could be done to save this inaugural year at the buzzer. That ship had sailed, the damage too thorough to come back from. Thus the question became of what shape will Season 2 take. Is there any reason to hope for a brighter future from this enterprise? Basically, what assurances do we get that none of this will happen again? It’s a question that the show seemed to shift its focus to as

TV Review: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series “Boxman” By: Brandon Wolfe

TV Review: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series “Boxman” By: Brandon Wolfe All season long, I have been imploring ‘From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series’ to stake out its own claim and distance itself from the film that sired it. Apart from some tweaks here and there (Richie being controlled rather than insane, Sex Machine being a professor), the series has shown a frustrating reluctance to deviate from its source material in any substantial way. It never seemed to fully grasp that we’ve already seen the film and that a television series needs to establish a unique identity in order to thrive. Better movie-to-TV adaptations like ‘Hannibal’ and ‘Fargo’ understand this and give us stories evocative of the films that spawned them, yet wholly original on their own merits. ‘Dusk’ is content to merely gussy up the film that shares its name. “Boxman” is the point where ‘From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series’ officially waves bye-bye to ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ the movie. And it turns out that when the s

TV Review: Penny Dreadful "Night Work"

TV Review: Penny Dreadful "Night Work" By: Sue The title refers to the penny dreadfuls, a type of 19th century cheap British fiction publication with lurid and sensational subject matter. The pilot has been airing on Showtime all week, and let’s see just how good it is, personally I cannot wait to see Dorian Gray, his character is a favorite of mine, but its doubtful he'll show up in the first episode. A child sleeps, and a woman slips out of bed quietly so that she doesn’t wake the child. She lights a lantern, heading down the hall to the loo. Something flutters against the window. It breaks through the window, and takes the woman. The child awakens looking for her mother; she walks to the bathroom, and sees something horrible, screaming. The first glimpse of the into is full of spiders, monsters, spilled blood and bats. In other words it looks fantastically dark. Vanessa prays in another language as a spider crawls down Christ’s crucified body. The spide
