After testing actors over the past couple of weeks, Warner Bros. and DC have tapped theater actor Ray Fisher for the role of Cyborg in the untitled Batman-Superman pic. Victor Stone or Cyborg , while not a major part in the Batman-Superman feature, is a member of the Justice League, and the role will become much more significant role as Warner and DC develop more films related to the Justice League universe, sources confirm. Warner Bros. had no comment on this story. Fisher joins the Batman-Superman cast that includes Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot and Amy Adams . Zack Snyder is directing from a script by David S. Goyer, based on a story by Goyer and Snyder. Production is currently under way in Michigan. Andrew Dominik has been trying to make a film based on Joyce Carol Oates’ 2001 novel Blonde for more than four years now. It appears he’s close to making it happen, with The Wrap reporting that Jessica Chastain is figuring out a deal to play Marilyn Monroe . Oates’ tome used biographical and historical sources to spin a new story focusing on the inner life of Norma Jean Baker , the woman behind the screen idol and tragic starlet. The portrait emerges of a fragile, gifted young woman with a knack for reinvention, who used those skills to overcome great odds. The book was a finalist for both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, and Dominik was so taken with it that he wrote the script adaptation on spec. After floating in limbo for a couple of years, it was snatched up by Brad Pitt’s Plan B, which will produce the film with Worldview Entertainment. In her first major film role, Nashville actress Aubrey Peeples has been cast as the lead, Jem, in the live-action Jem and the Holograms film, which is being directed by Jon M. Chu . The Holograms have also been cast: Stefanie Scott , who starred on Disney's A.N.T. Farm, will play Jem's sister, Kimber ; Pretty Little Liars actress Aurora Perrineau will play Shana ; and The Fosters' Hayley Kiyoko has been cast as Aja. Based on the 1980s Hasbro toy line that was also a beloved cartoon, the film will be produced by Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions, Scooter Braun Productions and Chu. Jon Favreau is directing the live-action/CG hybrid adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling tale. Disney is swinging forward with its adaptation of The Jungle Book , with two actresses in the midst of boarding the project being directed by Jon Favreau . Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o are in the middle of negotiations to join the already cast Idris Elba in what is being envisioned as a live-action/CG hybrid movie. Nyong’o is in final negotiations to play Rakcha, a mother wolf who adopts Mowgli. Johansson is in earlier stages of talks to voice the character of Kaa, the python who eats other animals by hypnotizing them. Kaa is the movie’s second villain after Shere Khan, the man-eating tiger being voiced by Idris Elba. The part of Mowgli has not been set yet. Justin Marks wrote the script for project, which has a release date of October 9, 2015. Favreau is producing along with Brigham Taylor.
