Christopher Meloni , who a month ago surprised everyone by exiting his longtime home as co-star of NBC's Law & Order: SVU , is in line for a big-time follow-up. I hear he is in negotiations for a major role in Man Of Steel , the Superman franchise reboot from Warner Bros that Zack Snyder is directing. No word yet on what part he might get, though. He would join such big-name players as Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane in the film, which stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Warner Bros. is already planning a sequel to Ryan Reynolds' superhero pic Green Lantern , despite the film’s soft performance at the box office. My review will come later this week and trust me it isn't going to be a nice as Joe D's Review . Sources say Warners still believes in the franchise, even if the studio is “somewhat disappointed” with Green Lantern’s result. Over the weekend, Green Lantern fell a steep 66% at the domestic box office, grossing $18.4 million for a cume of $89.3 million. That’s a big decline. Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said the movie is settling in, pointing out that fanboy pics often see a significant drop-off in their second weekends. Still, Green Lantern fell off more than recent superhero pics Thor and X-Men: First Class . Thor dropped 47% in its second weekend, while First Class dropped 56%. Similar films that have seen the same sort of dip that Green Lantern did include Hulk, which dropped nearly 70

 The Hollywood Reporter and Heat Vision writer Borys Ki t tweeted  about some pretty interseting news for some panels that will be held during Comic-Con 2011. Ridley Scott's Prometheus movie will get a Hall H presentation at CC. As will Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter . But which actors will be there? Well this will fill some of the void in Hall H this year. The Office is close to naming a new boss. According to sources, James Spader is finalizing a deal to become a series regular on NBC's top-rated comedy. The move, first reported by EW.com and confirmed by THR , would follow Spader's successful turn on the season finale as one of multiple celebrity guest stars who were vying for Michael Scott's job as boss at Dunder Mifflin's Scranton office.
