I was very much surprised by the film Salt , and with the film grossing around $300 million worldwide it's no surprise that Sony Pictures is moving forward on its much speculated Salt sequel. Kurt Wimmer has begun writing it for Angelina Jolie to reprise her role as Evelyn Salt, the CIA agent who spent the first movie running for her life after being outed as a Russian spy. The studio smartly left open a window for a possible sequel at the climax of the original, which was directed by Phillip Noyce. Now, Universal Pictures tried to draft a sequel of Wanted and it didn't happen. This is different. Jolie wants to do the Salt sequel if it comes together right. Nintendo on Tuesday unveiled its next-generation Wii -- dubbed the Wii U -- with a newly designed controller that includes a 6.2-inch touch screen and resembles a tablet. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata told the audience at the company's E3 presentation in Los Angeles that the aim is to offer "a deeper game experience and wider appeal" that will attract both casual and hardcore gamers. Wii U is slated for availability in 2012; pricing was not announced. According to Nintendo, the Wii console has sold more than 86 million units globally. But a report from Strategy Analytics’ Connected Home Devices in March predicted that declining sales of the Wii -- which launched in 2006 -- would take the console from first to third place in sales rankings this year, falling behind Xbox 360 and PlayStation3. Dwayne Johnson is in talks to join Paramount’s sequel to G.I. Joe , being directed by John Chu . The studio and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are rebuilding the franchise title and are bringing in a viper’s nest of new characters, which means that many of the players from the first one won’t be back. ( Channing Tatum , who played Duke in the first movie, is one that is expected to return.) We should all thank Entertainment Weekly for the first look at the upcoming Star Wars game for the XBox 360 Kinect . Not sure if I would be willing to go out and buy a Kinect from just this trailer but I am sure a few folks will. Kinect Star Wars  will include a variety of modes set in various corners of the vast Star Wars universe established by the two trilogies. In the " Jedi Destiny " mode -- which will be showcased at E3 -- you play one of several new characters in a story that begins shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode One -- The Phantom Menace and concludes against the backdrop of Chancellor Palpatine's rise to power on Star Wars: Episode Three -- Revenge of the Sith. Tron Legacy’s Olivia Wilde might have gone back to her day job on US medical drama House recently, but she isn’t finished filling her schedule with film roles. Warner Bros has locked Craig Brewer into a deal to write and direct a new installment of Tarzan. Brewer has come up with a take that tells the Tarzan story over three films. He hopes the first one will be his next directing assignment. Warner Bros, which has been stymied in watching several attempts to relaunch the Edgar Rice Burroughs -created hero die on the vine, separately has screenwriter Adam Cozad working on a script that tells a different version of the man raised by apes in the jungles of Africa from infancy. Cozad's recent work includes the Jack Ryan reboot and Archangel, the pic that has Tron: Legacy's Joseph Kosinski attached. How the studio decides which film to make remains to be seen, but clearly Warner Bros is determined to revive a live action Tarzan. This is a passion project for Brewer, who is in demand after directing the remake of Footloose for Paramount, and chose this over other opportunities.
