Walt Disney Pictures confirmed today to that James Franco and Mila Kunis have officially joined Oz, the Great and Powerful , A prequel to The Wizard of Oz is scheduled to be released in 2013. It will be directed by Spider-Man's Sam Raimi. James Franco , meanwhile, is set for an eclectic schedule, starring in the upcoming Rise of the Apes and Your Highness . The old man is a big part of the film and part of their problem. The boys head to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Director Todd Phillips assures use that the monkey has a key role in the film and is the show stealer.  First he lost his tooth now this. The sequel to the wildly successful 2009 "The Hangover" will follow the gang, played by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, as they take a boys' trip to Thailand with a dangerous stop in Bangkok. Asian gangster Mr. Chow, played by Ken Jeong, will also return. The film will be released on May 26t

MGM is finally in a position to bring Chucky back to life, with the horror reboot Child's Play heading into production. Child's Play first hit theaters in 1988, spawning the sequels Child's Play 2, Child's Play 3, Bride Of Chucky, and Seed of Chucky . The remake had been in development for several years, with a script already written by Don Mancini, who also wrote all the previous movies in the Chucky franchise. The hold-up on the remake was apparently due to rights issues by MGM and Universal. MGM has the rights to the original Child's Play, while Universal retained rights to the sequels. Apparently, a deal has been made between the two studios. Production is said to begin on the remake sometime later this year, with Brad Dourif returning to voice Chucky. This new project is said to be more of a reboot, with a darker tone and less comedic elements (what's more funny than a Cabbage Patch doll trying to kill a kid, though?). Looks like Snow White needs to go on the hunt for another Huntsman—at least for now. Viggo Mortensen , who has been in protracted negotiations for the part in Universal’s high-flying Snow White and the Huntsman picture, has fallen out of talks to join the project. The movie is one of several Snow White projects in active development—and, with star Kristen Stewart and other cast members locked, the one furthest out of the gate. Commercials helmer Rupert Sanders is making his directorial debut on the Joe Roth-produced pic, which has Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen. Negotiations with Mortensen have been contentious since the beginning, with insiders claiming the actor asked for $8 million as well as gross participation. Columbia isn’t even done shooting The Amazing Spider-Man , its Spider-Man reboot, but it has already begun working on a sequel. James Vanderbilt , who penned Amazing , will be back behind the keyboard for the continuation of the new movie franchise. Vanderbilt had a meeting with the Spider-Man filmmakers and studio execs yesterday outlining his take, getting a thumbs up, and will now begin writing. Vanderbilt has become part of the Spider-Man family at Columbia, which has enjoyed great success with a tightknit group of creative people. Vanderbilt first worked on Spider-Man 4 for the studio, back when Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were planning to continue the series. At the time, he was chosen for his character-driven approach to the story rather than a focus on special effects and worked on an outline for a trio of films. Amy Adams  (The Fighter)  has landed the iconic role of journalist Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Adams joins    Henry Cavill , Diane Lane and Kevin Costner on the production, which will be directed by Zack Snyder. “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," Snyder said in a statement Sunday. "So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful."
