The series focuses on Spartacus, a Roman gladiator (played by Andy Whitfield), who later became the leader of a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic. The show has been advertised as featuring some of the most graphic sex scenes ever produced on television. The violence is also very bloody and it is slated for a TV-MA rating. "We couldn't be happier with the first season," said Starz Entertainment EVP, Programming, Stephan Shelanski. "'Spartacus' delivers on all levels – action, characters, intrigue, romance and excitement. 'Clash of the Titans' Film Complete. Only In A Fairy Tale

'Clash of the Titans' Film Complete. Only In A Fairy Tale "Clash of the Titans" is getting more epic -- and perhaps 3-D. I talked to Sam Worthington backstage last night at The Envelope's special screening of "Avatar" and the subject turned to "Clash of the Titans," the fantasy adventure due in March from director Louis Leterrier, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. The 33-year-old actor said that Warners, pleased with what they saw of Leterrier's work, had increased the budget for the film. "We're going to be going back and shooting more scenes for it, they cut loose with some money so we can add to it," Worthington told me as we sat in the green room. He was obviously very enthused about the studio's decision. Sigourney Weaver, Worthington's costar in "Avatar" and a friend of Leterrier's, was sitting next to us and listening in as well. Worthington went on: "We're going to be shooting more scen

Marvin the Martian Film Is In The Works

Marvin the Martian Film Is In The Works The Na'vi may be protecting Pandora this weekend, but come Christmas 2011, Marvin the Martian will try to destroy things here on Earth. And the producers are talking to a number of stars. One name that's come up is Mike Myers, no stranger to voice roles given his work on the Shrek franchise. The Looney Tunes character is getting his own movie -- and now that movie has a director and writers, and could soon even have a star to lend Marvin his voice. Warner Bros. and producer Alcon Entertainment (the company behind the fall sensation "The Blind Side") are bringing aboard a director named Alex Zamm to oversee the misadventures of the cartoon alien. Zamm is an up-and-comer who is also signed on to direct "Hong Kong Phooey," the film version of the 1970s Hanna Barbera cartoon (that movie, from some of the same producers, could still happen, but probably not before the Marvin film). The Marvin picture now also has writers

21 Jump Street Film Get Some Meatballs

21 Jump Street Film Get Some Meatballs Columbia Pictures is negotiating with the "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" helming team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller to direct "21 Jump Street," the pic based on the TV series that launched Johnny Depp. The film, about a group of baby-faced cops who go undercover at high schools, has been guided by Jonah Hill and Mike Bacall, who hatched the story together. Bacall wrote the script and Hill will star in the film and exec produce. Neal Moritz is producing with Stephen J. Cannell. The series, which ran from 1987-1990, was an early hit for the Fox Network. "21 Jump Street" is the first live-action feature directing assignment for the duo, who've worked together as co-exec producers on the CBS series "How I Met Your Mother" and "Clone High." They co-wrote "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs," which was Lord's feature directing debut. Please Leave A Comment- Source- Variety

Nightmare On Elm Street Re Shoots and Friday The 13th News

Nightmare On Elm Street Re Shoots and Friday The 13th News Here's what Brad Fuller had to say: While many of you are enjoying a Christmas break I am working everyday on Elm Street. I have read all the rumors and want to make sure that you have the facts. We are doing a couple of days of reshooting Elm Street. People seem to be making a big deal about that fact. Elm Street is our 8th film and we've had reshoots for every film. As I have stated here many times, I try to read everything and I pay attention. The fans input has always been so valuable to me, and Elm Street is no exception. I don't want to get specific about what we are shooting, but suffice to say we heard you. After you've seen the film we can discuss what was reshot. I will say this though- nothing beats seeing Jackie back as Freddy- he works so hard to perfect his portrayal and leaves nothing to chance. Let's talk Friday 13th. We have busted our ass to get that movie going! The script is great- dare

Robert Rodriguez Talks Sin City 2

Robert Rodriguez Talks Sin City 2 Here is what we learn from the interviews: When asked about the timetable: Yeah, we still talk about doing that as early as later next year. I haven't gotten to that yet. When asked about the chances of the film actually happening Rodriguez can't say no, because he doesn't know if the answer is no. I can't say no, because I don't know it's no. I know Frank wants to do it. I know I want to do it. It's always sort of a 'time permitting' kind of thing. But it's not like I can tell you definitely we're starting . It's not my next picture, I know that. It doesn't mean that it's not the picture right after 'cause that's still a possibility. He goes on to say that the script for the film has been around since 2007 and when asked if he is happy with it he says: Well, it's one Frank wrote and we have to look at it now and go, "Is this really the one?" I think it's built

Up in the Air Movie Review

Up in the Air Movie Review By-Windy City Gal "To know me is to fly with me" - Ryan Bingham (George Clooney) We added a new team member to the Sandwichjohnfilms Family coming all the way from the Chicago. Windy City girl just blew into our family. And we are lucky to have her. Also check out her awesome blog over at Windy City Gal . Up in the Air, directed by Jason Reitman and starring George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, and "Twilight's" Anna Kendrick, focuses on Ryan Bingman (Clooney) as a no-baggage, traveling "corporate downsizer", void of any human relationships. Bingham's relationship-less life puts him in a perfect position to layoff people across the country without batting an eyelash. There might not be a more fitting role for Clooney. We all know his eternal bachelor status, and this movie represents it perfectly. I'm not saying he hasn't loved. We've seen many a girlfriend, but the movie eerily portrays similarities between his m

Brittany Murphy Passes Away

Brittany Murphy Passes Away I was never a huge fan of hers but I am sad when someone so young pass away. Sources are saying Brittany Murphy's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. We're told when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. Brittany Murphy starred in several films such as Clueless, Girl Interrupted, Drop Dead Gorgeous, 8 Mile, Sin City, Just Married, Don't Say a Word and several other films. She also did the voice of Luanne on King of the Hill. She was so young, and this is incredibly sad news. Our hearts and prayers go out to her friends and family. Please Leave A Comment-
