The Huntress Added To CW’s Arrow

The CW’s Arrow is getting another classic DC Comics character — and Stephen Amell ’s vigilante is getting a potential love interest. The highly anticipated fall action-drama series is adding The Huntress for a multi-episode arc. Not only is the character coming to the show, but EW.com has also learned the role has just been filled: The Huntress will be played by Aussie TV actress Jessica De Gouw . Introduced in 1947, The Huntress is the star of her own DC Comics series and there’s been a few iterations the character over the years. Arrow will feature the modern-era version whose alias is Helena Bertinelli. She’s the daughter of a mafia boss who vows revenge after her family is murdered. The comics had The Huntress prowling Batman’s backyard of Gotham, but we expect Arrow to keep Bertinelli close to Oliver Queen’s Starling City. Here’s the official character description: “Helena is a potential love interest for Oliver Queen; a fellow vigilante, set on destroying her father’s ...

The Bourne Legacy Review By:Ursula

The Bourne Legacy Review By:Ursula Look who's back with another review. The one and only Ursula. The Bourne Legacy had potential, but got lost in a lot of political back and forth. The beginning of the movie is a drag. The effort to catch the audience up on the previous movies becomes repetitive and unnecessary. Aaron Cross, (played by Jeremy Renner ) starts out alone, climbing and scaling rocky snowy covered mountains. Apparently, he has been banished for wrong doing. All this is going on while politics unravel back at Treadstone headquarters. Aaron Cross is linked to Dr.Shearing (played by Rachel Weisz ) by her testing blood samples for her scientific research. Her tests are on the effect the pills had on him and others in the program. It was rough sitting through the first half of the movie, other than a doctor going postal in a high security lab, because the scenes were not captivating and interesting. The characters are what carried the film. Both Aaron and the Dr.Shearin...

Jim Carrey Wanted For Kick-Ass 2

I am not sure he’s going to say yes, but Jim Carrey is being courted by Universal to play a showy supporting role in Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall , the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s crazy superhero movie. The character is called The Colonel , and he helps galvanize the team of misfit super heroes assembled to fight evil. The sequel brings back Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage . Carrey is a big fan of Matthew Vaughn and his original Kick-Ass film. Here, he wore the Kick-Ass costume for a musical duet with a bearded Conan O’Brien. But dealmaking is dealmaking, and this is far from a sure thing, at this point just a great idea. Tony Scott Commits Suicide

Some shocking and tragic news emerged from California on Sunday: veteran film director Tony Scott died by apparent suicide at the age of 68. Scott was born in North Shields in 1944, the younger brother of fellow director (and, later, business partner) Ridley. His earliest foray into film was in front of the camera, not behind it, appearing at the age of 16 in Ridley’s directorial debut, a short film called Boy And Bicycle . He graduated from the Royal College Of Art, intending to become a painter, but was tempted into film and TV by his brother. Launching his career crafting adverts for Ridley Scott Associates, he made his directing debut on television with an adaptation of Henry James’ The Author Of Beltraffio in France. But what he really wanted to do was make movies, and Scott tried for several years to get a version of Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire . MGM instead persuaded him to shoot The Hunger , which he made in 1982. The film was not a success on release and Scott ...
