Priest Is A Vampire Story Set In The Old West

Priest Is A Vampire Story Set In The Old West Director Scott Stewart and actor Paul Bettany had so much fun working together on Legion that they teamed up again for Priest, an upcoming futuristic vampire story based on a Korean comic book. In the movie, Jedi-like warrior priests battle vampires in a post-apocalyptic wasteland that's like the Old West. Thing is, the comic book wasn't a future story and didn't deal with vampires; rather, it was set in the actual Old West, and its main character, the immortal priest Ivan Isaacs, instead battles fallen angels. That might seem like a big change, but Priest creator Hyung Min-woo doesn't mind. "Min-woo came out and visited us over the summer," Stewart said in a group interview last week in Los Angeles. "He'd read a translation of the script and came out and was really, really pleased with what he saw. We talk about the graphic novels as being the past, and [the film version of] Priest is kind of the future....

From Paris With Love Red Band Trailer

From Paris With Love Red Band Trailer Paris finds a low-ranking US operative (Jonathan Rhys) thrust into a situation way above his level of experience when he's assigned to help stop a terrorist attack in France. He's partnered with a wise-cracking, bullet-flinging, skull-smashing FBI agent named Charlie Wax (John Travolta) who delights in taking out the bad guys with his particular set of skills. Yes, two stories about the director of Taken today (the other is about Dune) and we've only made the Liam Neeson quote joke once. It's like a New Year's resolution! Please Leave A Comment-

Sam Worthington To Sink His Teeth In As Dracula

Sam Worthington To Sink His Teeth In As Dracula Mr. Worthington his on fire right now with the success of Avatar and his upcoming film Clash of The Titans. Strike it when it hot. The good folks over at Latino Review have some breaking news . This is the day that Universal decides what it is going to make for summer 2011. You see, Universal has been stagnant since they got sold to that Cable company Comcast. They haven't been allowed to go to the toilet without a permission slip. And now they realize they need to make 8 big films for 2011. You see it takes at least a year to make a moving picture- and they don't have enough for next year. So there are 14 possible films with 8 needed. And they need to figure out what the freak they are doing quickly. Each of the possible 14 are ready to go with scripts and directors. Some of them you know and some of them you don't. But the craziest one is called DRACULA: YEAR ZERO. Yes I know, un titulo de mierda. This is a period rete...

Saw 3D Vs Paranormal Activity 2 Going To Get Nasty

Saw 3D Vs Paranormal Activity 2 Going To Get Nasty I n a cheap shot move Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures threw a curve ball at Paramount. Saw franchise partners Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate have just exercised an option and installed Saw VI director Kevin Greutert as director of Saw 3D, the seventh volume of the fright series. That blocks Paramount, which had hired Greutert to direct Paranormal Activity 2. Both films are set for release on October 22nd, and the move came after Paramount set that date. Meanwhile Twisted Pictures, which held an option on the director from back when he helmed Saw VI, bumped previously announced Saw 3D director David Hackl, who directed Saw V and who will be assigned another film quickly, sources tell me. Both directors have been involved in the Saw films from the beginning. The rivalry between the films began last fall, when Paramount's sleeper hit Paranormal Activity bloodied Twisted/Lionsgate's Saw VI at the box office en route to a $150 mill...

Robert De Niro To Take On George Wallace And Midnight Run 2

Robert De Niro To Take On George Wallace And Midnight Run 2 Buried in a Deadline Hollywood story about Robert De Niro's representation (he's just moved from the William Morris Agency back to his old home at Creative Artists) are some snippets about his upcoming roles. Frustratingly there are no details, other than the brief, tantalising mention that it's in "mid development", about a new Midnight Run, but the prospect of De Niro returning to Jack Walsh, one of his funniest screen creations, is a doozy. Paul Weitz' Another Night in Suck City, co-starring Casey Affleck, is based on a memoir by Nick Flynn (Another Bullshit Night in Suck City) at the centre of which is a fractured father/son relationship. De Niro as Affleck's father? And Selma, by Precious director Lee Daniels, will see De Niro take on the mantle of George Wallace. Not the comedian (he's not quite that versatile) but the governor of Alabama and four-time presidential candidate. Wallace was...

Will Ferrell Ready To Say "I Do"

Will Ferrell Ready To Say "I Do" Oh, wait. There is this: Word comes from The Hollywood Cog that Ferrell is developing a romantic comedy that sounds similar in tone to an Adam Sandler project, except for one thing: It’s a remake of a little known French film from 2006 called, I Do: How to Get Married and Stay Single which starred Charlotte Gainsbourg, who did some dirty naughty things with Willem Dafoe in last year’s Antichrist. The remake is being developed by New Regency and WAM Films, which is headed by Alain Chabat, who specializes in the French-to-English comedy market. He also came up with the original idea for the French version. The American remake, no doubt, will be dumb as rocks, as the logline indicates: It’s about a 40-something year old bachelor (Will Ferrell) whose seven sisters and mom try to force him to get married, prompting him to ask a friend’s sister to leave him at the altar so that everyone will leave him alone. Star Trek Writers Talk Sequel and Star Wars

Star Trek Writers Talk Sequel and Star Wars STAR TREK writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have given a few more clues about their ideas for the sequel. They talk about the massive pressure to build on the success of the first film and reveal it will have a villain as its main focus. In a Q&A session in Beverly Hills, the duo mention the classic adversary Khan, previously played by the late Ricardo Montalbán. The character first appeared in the 1967 TV episode Space Seed and returned in the 1982 movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. On the setting for the story, Orci explained: "We would never do a remake....it will be some time in the five-year mission. But that is a question. Should we pick them up immediately the next day or should it be later, we are still discussing that." And Kurtzman says the villain will be hugely significant in the follow-up: "I think our idea on this is that the first of any series is about them coming together or the formation. I could...

Aerosmith Seeking New Front Man

Aerosmith Seeking New Front Man Aerosmith has begun its search for a singer to replace Steven Tyler -- though whether it's permanent or temporary is uncertain. Guitarist Joe Perry told Canada's QMI Agency that the group is "already getting the word out there. The word's been out there for a while." After his Canadian swing with Motley Crue -- which ends Feb. 5 in Montreal -- Perry said that Aerosmith will "start having some auditions, making some phone calls. Hopefully, we'll have found a new singer by the summer, and Aerosmith will be able to go back out on the road." Tyler is currently in rehab for an addiction to painkillers after a tumultuous last few months of 2009. In his Dec. 22 announcement, Tyler indicated that he planned to "enthusiastically be writing, recording and performing with Aerosmith as soon as things are handled." Perry, however, contends that it may take awhile for those things to be handled, longer than he and the rest...

As Fred struggles with the world's worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up. Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch are writing the screenplay. Planet of the Apes Reboot Alive And Kicking

Planet of the Apes Reboot Alive And Kicking Vulture has learned that contrary to reports that saddened cinephile simiaphiles everywhere last week, Twentieth Century Fox has not given up on rebooting Planet of the Apes. In fact, insiders familiar with the situation insist the studio is now more determined than ever to make the film, albeit with different DNA: The Apes have been handed to none other than Peter Chernin, who last summer exited his post as top banana of News Corporation to become a producer at Fox. The Internet rumors of the reboot's demise likely germinated when it was discovered that all-star writer Scott Frank had left the project, an origin story showing just how the apes became so smart. Frank was also supposed to direct the film for producer Scott Rudin, and because Frank had crafted the scripts for such Fox hits as Minority Report and Marley & Me, it’s easy to see how his departure might be misconstrued as the studio’s loss of interest in the project. But no:...

Machete Has Found A Home At Fox

Machete Has Found A Home At Fox The auction ended late Friday night and I've been putting together what happened ever since. Certainly you'll recall the big cool quotient around Machete, that famously fake trailer by Robert Rodriguez from Grindhouse. It was considered the single best thing about that Weinstein Co double-feature flop that also included Quentin Tarantino's pic. Rodriguez' fake trailer hinted at a good story (Mexican day laborer is set up, double-crossed, and left for dead -- then starts everyone's worst nightmare) and carried an even better catchphrase ("They just fucked with the wrong Mexican.") Machete's YouTube video alone has 1.4 million views, which wasn't lost on Hollywood. The result was 6 studios all very interested in domestic distribution rights to Rodriguez' latest -- Sony, Lionsgate, Warner Bros, Fox, Paramount, and The Weinstein Co. Rodriguez had made the fake trailer into a real movie outside the studio system. Wit...

GREMLINS Sequel To Be In 3D?

Gremlins Sequel To Be In 3D? Gremlins I have very good information from a top source that tells me another Gremlins movie is coming to the silver screens and it will be in stereoscopic 3D! It is in the early stages with still lots of hurdles to pass, but it is being developed. This is not a 3D conversion of the original to be clear. The original GREMLINS was directed by THE HOLE's Joe Dante, with executive producer Steven Spielberg and writer Chris Columbus. Leave A Comment- Source- marketsaw

" Buried"Acquired By Lionsgate To watch the trailer click Here "In the first major feature pickup of the Sundance Film Festival, Lionsgate has acquired North American rights to Ryan Reynolds' thriller "Buried," about a private contractor who is kidnapped in Iraq and buried alive. Insiders say the price tag was in the $3 million to $4 million range. Directed by Spanish helmer Rodrigo Cortes and penned by Peter Safran, the film whipped up a flurry of interest among buyers after making its world premiere late Saturday night. Pic was produced by Safran and Adrian Guerra. " 'Buried' is one of the tightest, most intense thrillers we've ever seen, and we were absolutely determined to bring it home to Liosngate," said Jason Constantine, prexy of acquisitions and co-productions at Lionsgate. He and Lionsgate co-chief operating office Joe Drake announced the deal. Cortes said the deal with Lionsgate ensures that the film will be released with ...
