Yes the Harry Potter franchise is coming to an end on July 15th but do not fear my fellow Harry Potter fans via comingsoon J.K. Rowling announced Pottermore today which builds on the reader experience. Here is Rowling's video announcement and the press release, followed by images of the site. From 23rd June, fans can submit their email addresses to Pottermore.com in order to be contacted by the site following the opening of registration on 31st July, Harry Potter's birthday. On 31st July, an online challenge will be launched on Pottermore.com . 1 million of those successfully completing it will be granted early access to the Beta version of the website, enabling them to help put finishing touches before it opens to all in October 2011. In a new interview with Cine Premiere Mexico, Andrew Ackland-Snow, the art director for the Harry Potter series, divulged new information which states that (with the approval of J.K. Rowling ) the death of Severus Snape has changed. "We wanted to change a bit where Snape dies. In the book, he dies on the Shrieking Shack, and we wanted to get him out from, not a conventional interior, but from that kind of box, to do it in a more dramatic atmosphere. We asked J.K. if she agreed for that to happen in there, because we hadn't really seen it before. We made a crystal house, and you can see what happens in the boat house from there - Are you listening Harry? -, but also the school is in flames...and she loved it. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Pt 1 & 2 Will Be Different Films Daniel Radcliffe says Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 will be much different than the penultimate installment in the epic franchise, which is now in theaters. "The last movie is going to be really, really fast-paced and a load of action in it, and it is like a war film," Radcliffe told Reuters. "If we had done this book in one film, the stuff that would have got cut is most of this film." However, it's Part 1 that the actor finds more appealing because it contains the most character development. Part 1, Radcliffe added, is "so sedate compared to what the next one is going to be like. The next film, because you've had all the plot set up already, you can just kind of enjoy the insanity of all the action."
