BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Bryan Singer Confirmed To Direct X-Men: Apocalypse

Given the success of X-Men: Days Of Future Past and his comments after the film’s release about follow-up plans, it was all but a foregone conclusion that Bryan Singer would return to direct the new film, X-Men: Apocalypse . But the vagaries of filmmaking deals demand that things take time to lock in and Singer has just officially signed his contract to tackle the next instalment. With Simon Kinberg back writing the script based on ideas he’s thrown around with Singer, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the new film will be set a decade after Days and discovers what happens when all the time-tinkering his unleashed the powerful mutant Apocalypse who will cause trouble for our heroes. And who will those heroes be, given that time has now marched on even further. Kinberg took part in a Yahoo video Q&A to talk about the future of the past. "The X-Men film that we're working on now as everybody knows is X-Men: Apocalypse and that really follows the stories of the First

“Rogue Cut” Of “Days Of Future Past” Coming In 2015

Anna Paquin’s scenes as Rogue that were cut from “ X-Men: Days of Future Past ” will be added back to the film and re-released as the “ Rogue Cut ” next summer on homevideo platforms. The extended version of “ Days of Future Past ” will become available in the first half of 2015, most likely during the summer, according to the film’s writer and producer Simon Kinberg, who made the announcement Thursday from Stage 21, where scenes for the previous “X-Men” installment, “First Class” were filmed on the Twentieth Century Fox studio lot. Kinberg, who also worked on that film, was back on the lot to promote the theatrical version of “Days of Future Past,” available now on digital and on Oct. 14 on DVD and Blu-ray. More than 10 minutes of extra footage will be added to the “Rogue Cut” of “Days of Future Past,” which in addition to Paquin’s cut scenes, will also include other sequences involving other characters, as well. “It’s a big chunk, a substantial part of the movie,” Kinberg

X-Men Viral Websites Are Online Now

With X-Men: Days Of Future Past due on Blu-ray next month and the details for X-Men: Apocalypse beginning to crystallise, what better time for 20th Century Fox to sneak a couple of new viral websites for the mutant franchise online? Take a look at, and prepare to try to unravel the mysteries of, the Tandem Initiative and M-Underground . Tandem is advertising itself as a scientific think tank, which, according to its spiel, was “founded to help explore a new and growing generation: the genetically gifted.” The site offers mutants a chance to submit their stories and win free genotyping analysis, which makes us think they’re almost certainly up to no good. It’s a view shared by M-Underground , whose stated ambitions include “to expose those who wish to create a rift between humans and the genetically gifted. We will not let our world be torn apart with misinformation. The only ‘mutant threat’ is that which threatens mutants.” So… yeah, the two sides in this particular conflict

Channing Tatum Talks Gambit

We’ve known for a while that Channing Tatum has ambitions to play roguishly charming, New Orleans native X-Men mutant Gambit on screen, and that X-producer Laura Shuler Donner would also like it to happen, which means the idea is now in official development. While out stumping for 22 Jump Street , Tatum has shared more of his hopes for the character . “Creatively, we’re starting to chug forward. Obviously there’s nothing official,” Tatum told MTV News about the progress so far. “There are only conversations and dreams right now, really.” Still, he’s happy that it’s even gotten this far. “I’ve been pretty vocal about wanting to be the part of Gambit for a very long time. It’s a weird, pinching-myself moment that we’re even having the conversation.” Though there has been talk of meeting this new Gambit in X-Men: Apocalypse, the follow-up to Days Of Future Past, Tatum believes that they could go another way in re-introducing the character originally embodied by Taylor Kitsch in X-Me

Actor Who Plays #Apocalypse In X-Men: Days Of Future Past

As fans exited “ Days of Future Past ” positing that he might be the man in the grey face makeup spotted in Ancient Egypt. That man, of course, is the villain known as Apocalypse , and the eventual antagonist of 2016′s “ X-Men: Apocalypse .” End Credit Explained For X-Men: Days of Future Past - But, as confirmed to MTV News by a source at FOX,  Apocalypse was played by   Brendan Pedder. Brendan Pedder is an 18-year-old actor from Montreal with — as far as a cursory internet search shows — no real credits to his name. However, it seems he was in the right place at the right time: “Days of Future Past” filmed from April to August of 2013 in Montreal, which clearly didn’t hurt the native Canadian’s casting. As to whether Pedder will continue the role two years from now, we’ll just have to wait and see. Please Leave A Comment- Source- MTV

End Credit Explained For X-Men: Days of Future Past

The traditional Marvel post-credits scene at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past made hardcore comics fans very happy, but likely left more casual viewers scratching their heads. Who was this mysterious cloaked figure seen singlehandedly (or singlemindedly) building a pyramid in the air? His name shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering that Bryan Singer announced on Twitter last December that the next X-Men movie, out in May 2016, would be called Apocalypse. Yep, that was Apocalypse , one of the X-Men comics’ most memorable villains. Who Was the Villain in the 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Post-Credits Scene? Apocalypse is the oldest mutant in existence, pre-dating the X-Men by 5,000 years; the bonus scene shows one of his early accomplishments, with worshippers kneeling before the pale, blue-lipped young man as he constructs one of the Great Pyramids through telekinesis. The name the assembled masses chant, “ En Sabah Nur ,” translates to “ The First One .” Creat

X-Men Movies Continuity Issues

X-Men: Days of Future Past involves Wolverine time-traveling back to 1973 to change history. However, if you look at the previous six X-Men-related movies, you’ll see that the directors and writers have been messing with history all along — though not necessarily on purpose. After rewatching all seven films, we found six major incongruities that just don’t jibe — and you can’t blame Wolverine for these.   Spoilers follow for those who haven’t seen DOFP . When did Professor X and Magneto meet? In the original movie, Charles Xavier (played by Patrick Stewart ) tells Wolverine, “When I was 17, I met a young man named Erik Lehnsherr,” aka Magneto ( Ian McKellen ). But in First Class, Charles (then played by James McAvoy ) is seen as a child in 1944, and he meets Erik (Michael Fassbender) 18 years later in 1962. Director Bryan Singer takes the blame for that error, telling SciFiNow that he now regrets writing that line in the first script. When did Professor X and Magneto

Days of Future Past Review: What X-Men Should Have Been All Along

X-Men: Days of Future Past is a sound superhero flick that dares to admit, "We did it wrong." 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise is a study in inconsistent frustration. Riddled with canon issues from 2000's X-Men through the highly controversial The Last Stand , comic fans and newbies have come to woefully accept that their vision of the Marvel comic is no longer their own. After a refreshing reboot in First Class , hope was aroused that Fox had finally gotten its act together, and then The Wolverine arrived and that hope seemed dashed once more. But Days of Future Past re-establishes the universe, cleaning up several (but not all) major plot holes while delivering an excellent superhero character study that doesn't need a lot of big effects to sell itself. The future is a dark and dreadful existence, as both humans and mutants suffer under the thumb of The Sentinels - massive robots initially built to target mutants. Unfortunately, their pr

Channing Tatum Signed On To Play Gambit In Upcoming Films

The film will launch a stand-alone franchise with the " 22 Jump Street " star tackling the role last played by Taylor Kitsch . Channing Tatum has signed on to star in an X-Men spinoff centered on the character Gambit , THR has confirmed. News that the 22 Jump Street star would tackle the role last played by Taylor Kitsch broke when X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner revealed the move to Total Film on the red carpet in London Monday night, where the current X-Men movie, Days of Future Past , was premiering. Multiple sources say that Tatum will get a stand-alone spinoff, with his version of Gambit being introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse . The stand-alone film is still in development, however, and no director has been attached. When asked what kind of an actor she was looking at to play Gambit, Shuler Donner said, "It's Channing." Asked to elaborate on what makes Tatum right for the role, Shuler Donner said, "Well you know, he's a rogue --

“Quicksilver” Clip From X-Men: Days Of Future Past

A common thread following early screenings of X-Men: Days of Future Past has been how impressive one particular scene, in which Quicksilver rescues Magneto from captivity, is. Capitalizing on the buzz, a new promo for the movie offers glimpses at the high speed jailbreak. Watch the clip after the Jump... Introduced by a monologue from Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier, the new “Quicksilver” promo mixes Evan Peters’ introduction to the team — as glimpsed in an earlier trailer — with snippets from his rescue of Magneto from incarceration, giving the slightest of tastes of what to expect from watching the super-speedster in action. Watching the video’s inventive take on the basic super power of “doing things very fast,” it looks as if the X-Men incarnation of the character may set the bar pretty high for Joss Whedon’s competitive take in next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Perhaps having two Quicksilvers could end up being a good thing after all. Please Leave A Comment- S
